Our Sunday champagne brunch attire arrived at my house today. Hopefully, the committee won't mind carrying some of the shirts with them, as the last time we got shirts I had to bring an extra suitcase to transport them.

third theme - official solicitation for ideas

Hey all!

We have two kick a themes chosen already, and they will be on Sat/Sun night. We need a third theme, but since we're usually tired by night three, we want something easy and comfortable.

Now, last year at a drunken champagne brunch, Ryan came up with an awesome idea (that would also double for our commemorative STBE shirts): Black Family Reunion. All it requires is a t-shirt. Some people say we will get killed. I say, "our last name is Black...duh...and shame on you for suggesting otherwise!" Do we want this to be our theme? Just throw these shirts on? Or do we have other ideas?

Some ideas I have:
Extreme Couponers (make it rain...coupons)
Bad Celebrity Impersonators (I'm reasonably famous actress Kathleen Turner)
90s R&B Singing Group (think the Dick in a Box guys...or TLC)

T-shirts

I tweeted about our need for t-shirts on the cheap and Chris from Scrappy Music replied and gave us a great quote. We need to order 24 shirts in order to meet the minimum order number, so if I haven't heard from you, I assume you're too cheap to pay for a shirt.

As a result, we're opening up orders for people who can't make the trip. If you want a shirt, email me at ginger@stbe.org with your size. The shirts will look like the royal blue shirt on the right of the page. Shirts will be about $16 each.

So Mike and I were dreaming big and thought t-shirts would be an awesome idea! A friend said his boyfriend does screenprinting for a living and would give me a deal. Hahahahahaha! He quoted me $15 per shirt plus a $150 screenprinting fee. Assuming we only end up needing 10 shirts, that's $30 a shirt! When I told him the quote was a bit out of our price range, he responded (I assume he was trying to be a dick) and said, "I've come up with a solution. Target sells these iron on transfers that you run through a printer. You can get some cheap shirts and do that." Ugh. So I'm exploring our other options, but the shirts aren't looking good right now.
